RINOS Sandman: The Perfect Gravel Bike?

RINOS Sandman: The Perfect Gravel Bike?

The term "gravel bike" has become almost a universal container — it covers everything from commuters with mudguards to mountain bikes with 2.1-inch tyres. The RINOS Sandman has a precise answer to this vagueness: it's a gravel bike built for riders who genuinely want to go off-road, without sacrificing speed on tarmac.

Geometry: The Intelligent Compromise

The Sandman's geometry is designed for dual-purpose use. The reach is slightly longer than a classic road bike, which provides stability on technical descents. The handlebar position is higher, reducing fatigue over long distances. But reactivity hasn't been sacrificed — the reach and stack are calibrated for riders who also want to push hard on asphalt.

Carbon Frame: Why It Makes a Difference

At this price point, many gravel bikes use aluminium. The Sandman chooses carbon for a specific reason: vibration absorption. On gravel, the difference is felt in your hands, shoulders and back after three hours of riding. Rinos carbon isn't simply light — it's engineered to dampen micro-impacts while maintaining stiffness where it matters, at the bottom bracket and handlebar mounts.

Shimano GRX: The Right Groupset for Gravel

It's no coincidence that Shimano developed the GRX specifically for gravel. The gearing is designed for steep climbs with load, the hydraulic disc brakes deliver modulated power even with wet hands, and the ergonomic levers allow braking from the drops.

  • Drivetrain: Shimano GRX, 1x or 2x configurations available
  • Brakes: Hydraulic disc, 160mm rotors
  • Tyre clearance: Up to 50mm
  • Frame weight: From 950g

Who Is the Sandman For?

It's for weekend bikepackers, mixed-surface commuters, gravel sportive participants and anyone who simply wants a bike that keeps up on both road and gravel. It's not the choice for a pure road race bike — for that, there's the Odin.

But if the question is "one bike for everything" — the Sandman is probably the most honest answer we can give you.
